About Sarah
Designer/ Artist/ Holistic Living Practitioner
My work is shaped by a diverse background spanning art and design, education, and holistic wellness. Over time, these disciplines have naturally converged into a thoughtful approach to creating spaces that feel balanced, supportive, and deeply personal.
After studying fine arts in Toronto and design in Paris, France, I built a rewarding career in fashion design, illustration, and costume design for film, theatre, and television. Living and working in Europe deepened my appreciation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the beauty found in the subtle elements that shape our everyday experiences.
Extensive time spent in India further expanded my perspective, inspiring a deeper exploration of holistic living, mind-body connection, and the relationship between people and their environments. This journey led me to certifications in yoga instruction, in energy-based healing modalities, the study of traditional wellness systems and Feng Shui, all of which continue to inform my work today.
It was the renovation of our first family home that ultimately clarified the direction of my work.
We poured ourselves into transforming the house- investing countless hours and energy into creating a home that felt beautiful, authentic, and reflective of who we were. Despite our efforts, something felt out of sync. Certain aspects of life seemed stuck, particularly our health and overall sense of ease and wellbeing.
This experience sparked a deeper exploration into the relationship between our surroundings and how we live, feel, and function within them. Through further study and mentorship and the application of holistic design principles, I began making intentional changes to our environment. What started as subtle adjustments gradually led to meaningful shifts. Our home felt lighter and more supportive, daily life flowed more easily, and we experienced a renewed sense of balance, vitality, and joy.
That experience validated something I had long sensed throughout my career in design and wellness: our environments have a profound influence on our lives. When a space is thoughtfully designed and aligned with the people who inhabit it, it can become a powerful catalyst for wellbeing inside and out.
Drawing from these diverse influences, I work with clients to create homes and spaces that are not only beautiful and functional, but deeply supportive and aligned with how they want to live, feel, and thrive. My approach is holistic, integrating intentional design principles with a sensitivity to flow, balance, and the unique character of each individual and space.
What is Feng Shui?
Human life is connected to and flows with the environment around it.
Feng Shui explores our relationship to place. It is energy work for your physical space and a tangible way of working with Qi (life force energy) through design and the arrangement of objects in your environment. Feng Shui is what elevates the design of your environment from being a simple statement of your personal style to being an extension of and deep connection to all aspects of your life.
Your home tells an energetic story—a story of the history of the home and the land, combined with your personal story, which is always evolving. If you pay close attention to the details, your space has a lot of wisdom to share with you. Those details form a map that is your teacher.
There are different schools of Feng shui—each with its own approach to creating balanced, harmonious energy in your physical environment to support your inner and outer well-being on all levels.
